The Youth Group Scoop!

Praise to the Lord!

We had such a wonderful time at Student Life Camp this past June 8^th through June 12^th. Our camp location for this year was Covenant College, high up on top of the Lookout Mountain, on the Georgia and Tennessee state lines. All told, we had 32 attending by the end of our week, which is the largest group that we have had go to youth camp at one time.

A big word of “thanks” to Krista Jenkins and Holly Hill for helping provide transportation and family group leadership, and also to Jocelyn Newton, Tyler DeBoard and Devon Matthews for assisting Krista and Holly with student leadership. David Smith was also able to go along and help with transportation and was a tremendous help in ministering to our youth.

We had one youth accept the Lord Jesus Christ while we were away, 2 others rededicate their lives to the Lord, and 3 who feel that the Lord may be calling them into some type of mission service. It was a blessed week all the way around! We are hoping to have Student Life Camp dates for Summer 2010 ready to announce fairly soon.

EVENT: World Changers (through the North American Mission Board)

Total cost at $150

And looking to the Fall and Winter…

Hoping to plan a “Disciple Now” weekend for the football-season “open date” weekend. This will be a Friday night / Saturday experience that will involve corporate worship, small-group Bible study and recreation.

AND…

Ski retreat over the Christmas break holiday. I will try to schedule this between the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays.
